For her series Untitled (clouds) Angelmaier photographed various images of well-known pictures of the sky or of clouds by Ansel Adams, Alfred Stieglitz, Alvin Langdon Coburn, Edward Steichen, and Edward Weston. The jumping-off point for each work in Angelmaier’s current series point was two different reproductions of historical photographs from books available online. The artist photographed them directly from the computer screen with a large-format camera in a double-exposure process in a way that created an overlay of the two images on the negative. (Martin Hochleitner)
A micro-museum of light phenomena, MuseumQuartier Vienna’s Sternenpassage (Star Passage) presents artists with projects on the subject of “Enlightenment” (in the extended and metaphorical sense)—artists ho work with lighting and light phenomena. Each series of images created for the Sternenpassage iscombined with a telescopic photograph of space and are displayed in illuminated glass cases. Three editions of LUMEN ZINE per year accompany the exhibitions in the Sternenpassage Mikromuseum für Lichterscheinungen / MQ Wien.
