Christian Eisenberger’s drawings can be understood as autonomous works within his extensive oeuvre, which continually expands. With a permanent marker or pen, Eisenberger fills pages with figures, words, or creates sprawling, ornamental image-tapestries. For Eisenberger, drawing is more than a creative practice; as an integral part of his everyday life, Eisenberger draws, as if driven and obsessed, alongside other activities. The aesthetic of the drawings ranges from trashy figuration, provocation, to exact structuration. The countless loose sheets and notebooks, ordered and numbered by Eisenberger, in turn become part of a unique systematics.
Christian Eisenberger lives and works in Vienna. Numerous solo and group exhibitions, including Kunsthaus Graz, Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz, Galerie Altnöder, Salzburg, Kunsthalle Wien, mumok Wien. Participated in the Colombo Art Biennale.
